According to studies, fast cars are more often involved in road accidents compared to other types of cars. People who drive their fast cars almost to the limits sometimes lose control of their cars that they end up either skidding off the road, get into collision with other vehicles and other forms road accidents. However, the good news is that although fast cars are often involved in road accidents, these incidents are not really much related to the technical defects or the overall set-up of the vehicle itself.

Experts believe that fast cars are actually built to perform well on the road but the driving skills of the people behind the wheels may not be at par with the power of the fast car. In most cases, the drivers of fast cars overestimate their driving skills and end up losing control of their cars. Since accidents do happen, it is therefore very important to drive carefully and never abuse the power of your fast car. Furthermore, before you do buy cars, you should check out the safety features of the car thoroughly.

Safety Features That You Should Look For In Fast Cars

The first thing that you need to check when buying fast cars is the safety features. Your car should have antilock braking systems (ABS). The ABS will allow you to stop your car fast. Good ABS will help you deal with certain tight situations on the road. During panic stops, the ABS will allow you to steer you car and prevent any untoward incidents. To learn more about the ABS of fast cars, ask your car dealer to explain to you in details how this feature works. You may also ask the car dealer to demonstrate how the ABS works so that you will have a concrete idea of how your car will perform in tight situations.

Aside from the ABS, you should take a closer look into the traction control of the fast car. This feature will help prevent traction loss while your car is speeding. This feature can be very helpful especially during extreme weathers and when you are driving at top speed in some winding road. Combined with the ABS, the traction control will help you keep your car stable on the road even during bad weathers.

However, since this feature do have its own limitations, driving slowly and carefully during extreme weather conditions is still very much advisable. Never for one moment think that because your car have good safety features, you can still drive fast even during extreme weather conditions.

On the other hand, since accidents do happen, it always pays to check the airbag features of the fast car before you buy it. Look for airbags at the front and side of the car. Knee airbags are also very important.

Sure to be a showstopper, Simply American is a brand new event kicking off on Sunday 24 June in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. This fabulous themed rally celebrates all things American in the motoring world and is set to be a great day out for both families and motoring enthusiasts alike.

All those who own a vehicle Òborn in the USAÓ are invited to motor on down to Beaulieu and live the American dream for a day; joining the colourful display of American vehicles in the parkland, meeting other like-minded enthusiasts and enjoying all the features of the Beaulieu attraction. All American marques are welcome, from everyday American produced cars, to Classic American vehicles, to the true American muscle cars.

Twenty cars chosen from all rally entrants will take part in a cavalcade and display in the Beaulieu Arena, and one of these selected vehicles will be the winner of the coveted PeopleÕs Choice Award and Beaulieu Trophy.

As event sponsors, Chevrolet will be showcasing a stunning range of their vehicles at the event, including a beautiful 60th Anniversary Corvette, Camaro, Captiva, new Aveo, Cruze and Volt. They will also be bringing along a Scalextric track for everybody to play on for free.

Adding to the all American atmosphere, musical entertainment will be provided by the American Barndance Band playing sets throughout the day, and visitors can stop for a bite to eat at a number of American-themed food stands in the parkland.

For entrants arriving on the day in their American vehicle and joining the event on the Beaulieu parkland, individual ticket prices are £10 per adult and £5 per child. Advance tickets are available from www.beaulieushop.co.uk or by telephone on 01590 612888, which you can also call for information on group and club entry. If you buy in advance you will also receive a 10% discount voucher for the Beaulieu Gift Shop.

Entry into the Beaulieu parkland with your American vehicle is from 9.30am, when catering will be available.

All other visitors who wish to see the event, but not participate in an American vehicle should enter Beaulieu via the Main Reception from 10am, at normal attraction admission prices.

Admission to the event includes entry to the whole Beaulieu attraction; the National Motor Museum and its exciting BOND IN MOTION exhibition showcasing 50 original James Bond vehicles, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, Beaulieu Abbey, and Palace House and gardens.

Simply American is one of the latest additions to a growing calendar of Simply rallies which has rapidly expanded to include a wide variety of themes covering many makes and models. All Simply rallies are run and organised by Beaulieu and take place in the grounds of the National Motor Museum. Other new additions to the Simply rallies for 2012 include Simply 4×4 on 12 August and for this year only, a one-off Simply Bond rally on 29 July.

Fans who want to get a taste of what the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals is all about in August can get a full gullet during the Thunder at the Lakes NHRA Divisional Race this weekend. About the only things missing are the pro classes and about 20,000 insane fans camping in The Zoo. Otherwise, Thunder provides the same great level of racing.

At center stage are the high-powered Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Car, which rumble down the drag strip at 280 mph with 5-second times. Some of the best Top Alcohol pilots in the country compete at BIR during Thunder at the Lakes, putting on an incredible show in the process. Racers like Cy Chesterman, Vern Moats, Kirk Williams and Ed Schmeeckle are some of the best in the business and are perennial favorites at BIR's race.

It's a Dual Event Weekend (meaning fans need to only buy one ticket to get into both events) with the BMW club hitting the road course. And racing will go on rain or shine! Two events for the price of one!
